No matter how far you have travelled on your discerning journey, there is always need for more time and space to spend with God. The Discernment Retreat Day offers such time and space.
Throughout the day, short introductions lead into significant quiet reflection and listening to what God might be saying to you. The introductions are designed to lead you on a journey — reflecting on what has already happened in your life, what is currently happening, and where God might be leading you in the future - both immediate and longer-term.
Come expecting to spend a lot of time in silence with God.
Your discernment journey will not finish at the end of the Retreat Day. During this time, you will be given some ideas and methods for continuing your journey with God - a journey that will last a lifetime.
Philippians 1:9-11 (NIV)
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ -to the to glory and praise of God.
The Discernment Day Retreats are run by the Sydney Presbytery Ministry Committee, and are open for anyone who would like to intentionally spend time with God to discern where God is leading them in the next season of their life. Sydney Presbytery PRC requires that those undertaking a Period of Discernment attend at least one retreat during their PoD.
